SEABUCKTHORN BERRY OIL / The Skin Rejuvenator

Nature’s highest source of Omega 7 in the plant and animal world is a key building block for skin, hair and nails: Experience extensive hydration, elasticity restoration, increased collagen production and reversal of sun and environmental damage.

The oil itself has a deep red/orange hue, and thickens to an almost mango butter-like texture at cooler temperatures, which lends that beautiful silky slip to my compositions.

I really think Seabuckthorn is my all time fave ingredient. Probably also because the thorny bush is native to the sandy soil of Northern Germany where I grew up, between the Baltic Sea and the Northern Sea.

We call it 'The Lemon of the North' back home, because at up to 1300mg Vitamin C per 100gr of berries, these coral-coloured powerhouses rate way higher than Citrus, which come in around 50mg Vitamin C per 100gr fruit. I do remember it was an absolute bitch to harvest, but my mum’s tart jam on buttered bread and honey-sweetened elixir on yoghurt was worth every scratch.
